The transfer sagas that Chelsea and Man United indulge in are often as exciting as when the two Premier League giants clash on the pitch.

Latest on this list is a highly talented defender, one that Antonio Conte has been eager to sign from the summer window itself, but the Red Devils have hopped into the transfer race and could potentially set Chelsea’s plans in a bit of a pickle.

As per Calciomercato, several outlets in Britain claim that Juventus wing-back Alex Sandro will be pursued by Man United as well in the upcoming transfer window.

The 26-year-old fits perfectly in the required spot at United, where Luke Shaw has been denied appearances, and Matteo Darmian has been far from satisfactory.

The Brazilian has been targeted by Chelsea for quite a while now, and was allegedly even at the receiving end of a humongous €80 million offer from the Blues, which was swiftly rejected by the Old Lady.

However, his performances since then have not been at their best, and Kwadwo Asamoah has been outperforming Sandro quite a bit, particularly in the big games.

As a result, Juventus might be more inclined in making the sale and pocketing a decent sum in January.

This could certainly be the reason behind the interest from Old Trafford. However, it doesn’t seem likely that Jose Mourinho will splash that big of an amount for a player of questionable form at the moment.

But the interest does give them some much-needed alternative to signing Tottenham’s Danny Rose as the solution for their formation woes. While Spurs will prove to be a tough negotiator for their pacey defender, the other will be eager in ensuring that their long-term target comes to fruition.
