Chelsea Finally Ready To Allow Their Goalkeeper To Join ‘Real Home’ Real Madrid
Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is edging closer to the club’s exit door, as Real Madrid’s interest in his services continues to grow.
According to Spanish news outlet AS, Los Blancos have been informed by Courtois’ camp that he is very eager to leave Stamford Bridge and return to Spain – a place he considers his real home because of the fact that his wife and two children still live there.
Chelsea have already made attempts to keep him, having offered him an improved deal back in May.
However, he wasn’t happy with the terms of the contract, and demanded double the £100,000-a-week he currently earns with the English Champions – a weekly wage that would make him the highest paid keeper in the world.
Having failed to convince the Blues to meet his demands, it appears that the Belgium international may actually leave if an offer comes in.
AS claim that the Londoners have two plans – the first involves giving Courtois what he desires in wages, and the second involves selling him as soon as possible, so that a replacement can also be quickly lined up.
Several reports suggest that the Belgian shot-stopper is set to be signed as Keylor Navas’ replacement at Real.
Meanwhile, Jan Oblak and Sergio Rico are being linked to Antonio Conte’s side, as the Courtois saga appears set to kick off.
