Loan spells don’t last forever, and it usually goes either of two ways- a return to the club following the completion of the deal, or an option by the side to purchase the talent on a permanent deal.
But on rare occasions, apart from when players are recalled by the parent club prematurely, deals can also terminate when the side to which an individual has been loaned to cancels the deal. A similar plight seems to have struck one Manchester United youngster.

Manchester United confirmed the return of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson from Leeds United.
The Championship club elected to terminate the loan spell much earlier than the initial deal under which the 20-year-old was supposed to spend the entire season at Elland Road.

A failure to impress seems to be the main reason here, with a mere 6 appearances being notched by the defender during his brief tenure.
The fact that he managed to make only a single league appearance, with the rest being cup outings, speaks for itself. Being prone to injury and lack of form were also key factors.

Leeds acknowledged the move in a statement reading: “We would like to thank Cameron for his efforts during his time at the club.”
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the starlet. Knowing United, the Englishman will probably be loaned off to another club to further develop his talents, and hopefully in a manner better to the previous one.
But with injuries ever a concern for the Mancunian side and fixtures looking increasingly riddled, Mourinho might just keep him handy for the rest of the season.
