Napoli Midfielder Told To Reject Premier League Move For A Bizarre Reason
Napoli starlet, Jorginho, has reportedly been asked to reject a move to the Premier League by his agent, Joao Santos, amid interest from Manchester United and Manchester City.
An earlier report claimed that the Old Trafford outfit had held talks with Santos over a potential transfer for Jorginho last month.
The Red Devils are looking to sign a long-term replacement for veteran midfielder Michael Carrick, who is likely to hang his boots up at the end of this campaign, and have identified the 26-year-old to be an ideal replacement.
Meanwhile, United’s cross-town rivals, Manchester City, are also interested in bringing the Italy international to the Etihad.

But since these reports have come to light, Joao Santos has made it absolutely clear that his client is ‘happy’ at Napoli, and has criticized the harsh weather conditions in Manchester to be more or less a deal-breaker.

According to the report by Mirror, Jorginho’s agent has, in fact, advised his star client to snub a move to the Premier League because ‘it rains too often’.
Santos said: “From June he’ll have two more years on his contract and maybe we’ll start discussing it then, it’s pointless messing with his head. The contract isn’t expiring anytime soon, there’s time.
“He’s happy in Naples, Jorginho is happy and the city is very beautiful. Manchester United and Manchester City? When you’re playing for the Serie A leaders it’s only logical that important teams will ask for updates: for example the length of the contract.
“I’m glad to come here (Naples) too, it’s a very Brazilian climate. In Manchester, it rains too often.”
