Man Utd boast of some phenomenal talents in their roster. Unfortunately, due to bigger stars and Jose Mourinho’s style of play, not all of them receive the adequate game time they deserve.

As a result, the players are given the option to wait out their turn or to switch clubs, and in the modern game, the latter option is becoming increasingly popular, especially if a high paying side comes knocking.

This is precisely what could happen to a fan-favorite Red Devil after a staggeringly different season.

As per Tuttosport, AC Milan have identified Ander Herrera as their summer target, in a bid to capitalize on the 28-year-old’s fall from the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Despite being named as the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year last campaign, the Spaniard has started in only eight Premier League games this season.

The biggest factor behind this is Nemanja Matic’s arrival from Chelsea, as a result of which a holding-midfielder duo is being deployed by Mourinho in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

With Pogba being the other name at the center of the pitch, and the offensive slots being different from Herrera’s preferred style, it would appear that his days at the Mancunian outfit are numbered.

Milan will be in peak position to make the swoop, and the source adds that the English side will accept nothing below £30m for Herrera. This might not seem that big of an issue for the Serie A giants, what with their recent Chinese takeover leading them to spend over £210m last summer.

What is sad is that Herrera could still have a life in Manchester, as the third cog in a 4-3-3 midfield. Unfortunately, Mourinho has been stubborn in his avoidance of the preferred style, leaving the likes of Herrera and Fellaini as potential exits in the summer.
