How David De Gea’s Future At United Depends On Miralem Pjanic

David De Gea is a gem of a goalkeeper whose recent antics were yet again a reminder as to why United continue to treasure him. But as is the case with nearly all players that perform exceptionally well, some European giants remain on a perpetual hunt.
Real Madrid’s desire to land the stellar shot-stopper is no secret. The club has made several attempts to make him a Galactico, and have even come painstakingly close to sealing a deal.
However, Old Trafford has so far successfully housed the Spaniard. But if the Mancunian giants are to keep hold of the 27-year-old, there is something they must do first.
As per Don Balon and several other Spanish outlets, De Gea has demanded that United sign world-class talent and firmly place themselves as European heavyweights if he is to be swayed to sign a long-term contract.

His current deal is due in 2019, but the club has an option to extend it by a further year. Regardless, Madrid might come knocking around the time, and so, Jose Mourinho and company must decide on what to do about the players De Gea wants to play alongside.

Topping his wishlist is Samuel Umtiti, who is already believed to be on United’s radar following some doubt over his Barcelona future. Further, the buyout clause of £53 million attached to his name is certainly a figure the Red Devils can match.
The other talent currently plays for Juventus, and has been linked with United extensively in recent windows – Paulo Dybala. In addition, his club partner Miralem Pjanic is also a name that has been quoted.
All in all, will three new top-notch names be arriving at Old Trafford to ensure the future of a world class keeper, or will Madrid finally receive the man they have been badly craving for? Time shall tell.
