La Liga Star Wants Arsenal Move
Ivan Rakitic has made his decision as to which club between Manchester United and Arsenal would be his next destination, according to the latest reports in Spain.
Both the Premier League giants have reportedly enquired about Rakitic’s availability for a potential transfer in the summer, as managers Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger prepare to strengthen their squads for the upcoming season.
The Croatia international has hit a rough patch at Barca, who themselves have undergone a catastrophic episode after having been knocked out of the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League by underdogs Roma last week.
This, in turn, has caused manager Ernesto Valverde to make certain adjustments to his squad, as he now prepares a major overhaul at Camp Nou.

And according to Spanish outlet El Gol Digital, Arsenal and United have come forward to take away Rakitic from Valverde’s hands.

However, the 30-year-old seems to have already made up his mind as to where he would like to go next. It was reported that if Rakitic were to move to England’s top flight, his first choice would surprisingly be Arsenal rather than United.
The Gunners face a prospect of losing Jack Wilshere, who is out of contract at the end of the season, and thus, are keen to bring in a world-class midfielder in the summer.

It has also been suggested that Wenger sees the Croatian as Wilshere’s ‘ideal replacement’, but with Arsenal likely out of the Champions League, unless they win the Europa League, it’ll be a difficult task to persuade the 30-year-old to move to the Emirates.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are also in the hunt to find a suitable successor to Michael Carrick, who has announced his retirement at the end of the campaign.
