The former Man Utd manager, who was a bitter rival of Wenger during his managerial days, had to undergo emergency surgery due to a sudden brain hemorrhage.

The gesture was just one of many that the entire football community had wished upon the legend, and coming from Wenger at this moment, it truly was something special.

The emotional speech was echoed on many occasions by applause from the stadium. The match, which Arsenal memorably won 5-0, began with players from both sides as well as the matchday officials giving a wonderful guard of honor to the gaffer, thanking him for his years of services to the club and the league.

Further, the stadium was riddled with support for their manager, who hasn’t always enjoyed the best of support from his fans, an issue he joked about in his address.

After Ferguson, he is the last remaining manager of note who defined an era of gaffers manning a club for decades altogether.

His best wishes will aid that of several more for the legend who will hopefully make a speedy recovery.
