United will be eager to impress going into the transfer window. Their 0-0 draw against West Ham, while a repeat of poor performances, was enough to secure them the second spot in the Premier League table for this campaign.

Jose Mourinho will be eager to do one better next year and give rivals City a run for their money. One of the ways in which he plans on doing it is by literally outspending the Sky Blues and building a team worthy of English dominance as well as a strong European challenge.

And one youngster could be an integral part of these plans.

As per Guardian, Mourinho is keen on bringing Ajax youngster Justin Kluivert to Old Trafford. The 19-year-old is also eager for a Premier League move, and the most recent update from Amsterdam may have United supporters stirring with excitement.

The source claims that contract talks have failed between the youngster and the club. The sore point remains Kluivert’s intended salary of €1.5 million-a-year as well as the added stipulation that he and his noteworthy agent Mino Raiola will receive a cut from any future transfer.

This was not agreed by Ajax, who have a policy that no player will be paid more than €1 million, and thus, the starlet can’t remain as their highest-paid talent.

This puts Mourinho and company in pole position to sign him. The player’s father, the legendary Patrick Kluivert, played at Barcelona when Mourinho was a coach there, and thus, some rapport may exist.

Further, the forward plays primarily on the left-wing, despite having the ability to function on the other side as well. As of such, if United end up signing him, the future of Anthony Martial will be put in even more jeopardy.

It seems highly unlikely that one more youngster will be able to merrily function in view of names like Martial, Rashford, and Lingard already on the roster.
