Manchester United Break Silence On Zinedine Zidane Rumours – BBC

Manchester United‘s shocking loss to Brighton on the weekend has not done Jose Mourinho any favours, and the news of his position at the club being under threat has been doing the rounds.

If there were bets to be placed on the next man to face the sacking in the Premier League, Jose would certainly be topping that list.

Zinedine Zidane was rumoured to be the immediate replacement for the Portuguese, and given his record at Real Madrid, the fans were evidently happy with it.

The boss at Old Trafford was far from satisfied with the lack of signings this summer, and that seems to be playing a huge part in the team’s performances so far.

Poor strategies of attack, no cohesion in defense, and lack of intent has left United in a spot of bother already. However, when spoken to a source close to the club, the response received (via BBC) was simply: “Why would we discuss Zidane when there is no job?”

This quote has all but secured Mourinho’s job for now, and has put an end to Zizou’s potential arrival for the time being.

However, things need to change in the red half of Manchester soon, and experts like Gary Neville and Ian Wright have already spoken about the situation.

Neville recently stated: “The minute that Woodward gave Jose Mourinho a contract extension – which some would say was unnecessary part way through a season – but believing in a manager, showing the faith, he had to then buy him the centre-backs.”
