Bad news for Tottenham and Juventus, as Anthony Martial is supposedly set to sign a new contract with the Red Devils in the coming weeks.

Over the summer, it was apparent that Jose Mourinho wasn’t fond of Anthony Martial. The Portuguese boss had instructed the club to sell him to the highest bidder, but club CEO Ed Woodward opposed this decision.

The French youngster made his return to the starting lineup in Manchester United‘s shock defeat against Brighton, where he failed to make any impact to the fixture.

Juventus and Tottenham seemed highly interested in luring him out of Old Trafford during the summer, but United’s high valuation meant that they backed out of any deal, and decided to wait until January.

But now, according to Calciomercato, the Mancunian giants are set to make a contract offer to Anthony Martial in the coming weeks. The Reds are not interested in letting go of the 21-year-old, as the board believes he is one for the future.

The Frenchman is set to earn around €9-10 million a year upon signing the new contract, which will also increase his transfer value in case any club wishes to make a bid for him.

It is hard to see Juventus or Tottenham making a move for Martial if he signs a new contract at the Old Trafford outfit, but his situation at Manchester United remains far from great.

Mourinho brought Martial back to the matchday squad last weekend, but chose Marcus Rashford to replace Alexis Sanchez in the game against Burnley.

But with the English International set to miss the next three games due to the red card he received, a perfect opportunity has opened for Martial to prove his point and make an impact.
