Jose Mourinho has always been rendered as a staunch critic of his players. However, when things are moving favorably, he is often the first person to laud talents with requisite praise, and their reward is apparent in game time.

As of recent, it seems that Mourinho is particularly eager on setting straight past differences, with Luke Shaw’s newly assigned five-year contract an apt example.

Now, another Manchester United youngster who has, in the past, been an object of doubt, could be parry to the same treatment.

Anthony Martial was the hero for the Red Devils on Saturday, when his two goals engineered a 2-1 comeback for the side against Chelsea. However, Stamford Bridge instead saw Ross Barkley net a last-minute equalizer, the sole point being rescued in the end.

When Martial was eager for his third, Mourinho did a remarkable thing. Despite not being in the FA’s best books for his touchline behavior, Mourinho crossed the manager’s line onto the pitch and patted Marital on the back for an important closing down ploy deployed by the youngster.

Minutes later, when the game’s dynamic forced Mourinho to bring Marital off for Pereira, the gaffer actually shared a fond embrace with the lad. Best of all, Martial’s iconic smile was out there during that gesture, and it goes on to show that relationships can be mended after all.

With 3 goals in 2 games, Martial has set a strong precedent. Against Newcastle, he was a vital cog, and Chelsea too faced his brilliance, both the goals being scored from powerful and skillful shots.

Things could be looking quite up for Martial, who may now even be gifted with further first-team starts, and if things continue to go well, perhaps a new long-term contract will be on the line as well?
