Gary Neville Shares Hilarious Tweet When Asked About Liverpool Winning The League
Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has pretty much done it all in a stellar career at his beloved club. The decorated full-back won trophy after trophy to add to his numerous personal accolades.
But if there’s one thing he hasn’t seen, and perhaps to his relief, it is arch-rivals Liverpool lifting the Premier League trophy.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you would know that the Reds haven’t won the Premier League since its inception in 1992, and are looking to end that drought as soon as possible.
This season looks like their best bet in more ways than one, owing to their tremendous squad depth and the sheer brilliance of manager Jurgen Klopp.

But if there’s one man who wants Liverpool to fail more than anyone, it’s Gary Neville. The United legend was asked a very specific question on Twitter, which read: “Would you rather Salford won the league and so did Liverpool? Or Salford didn’t go up and Liverpool didn’t win the league?”
In response, Neville tweeted out an answer that hardcore Manchester United fans will absolutely love him for: “Option 3. I’d rather Salford got relegated than Liverpool win the league.”

In case you’re wondering, Gary Neville co-owns Salford City FC along with other members of the Class of ’92, and is a dedicated owner desperate for the team’s success. But clearly, he isn’t going to give up hating his age-old nemeses for the success of his own team.
Jokes apart, Liverpool do pose a genuine threat to Manchester City‘s title defence this year, and boast of the best front three in the entire league. Their midfield has been buoyed by recent signings, and their defence looks solid thanks in part to the stunning form of Virgil Van Dijk.
Clearly, Gary Neville has every right to be worried.
