OFFICIAL: Chris Smalling Signs Contract Extension At Manchester United

Manchester United defender Chris Smalling has penned a new contract at the Old Trafford club.
The new three-year-deal will keep him at the club until June 2022. Smalling also has the option to extend the same for a further year.
The 29-year-old is one of the mainstays of the club after joining from Fulham in 2010 under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson. He has made 307 appearances for the club so far.
Smalling tweeted that he is delighted to get a new contract.
“This is my ninth season and I am delighted to be continuing my progression with this team. We’re all now concentrating on the busy period,” said the defender.
United boss Jose Mourinho also seemed happy with the extension. He said, “I am very happy Chris has signed a new contract. Chris has been with the club for a number of years and is now one of the senior players within our squad.”
Smalling’s deal with the Premier League club was set to expire in 2019. The England international has won all major trophies in English football during his time with the Red Devils.
Smalling has won the 2010-11 and 2012-13 Premier League titles, besides the FA Cup, League Cup and the Europa League.
