Player Ratings: Liverpool 3-1 Manchester United
Manchester United were handed a huge blow by Premier League rivals Liverpool, who climbed back to the top of the table. Jose Mourinho’s men suffered a 1-3 defeat after Xherdan Shaqiri scored two second half goals to settled the tie.
Sadio Mane had given Reds the lead early in the first half, before a goal from Jesse Lingard settled things. Jurgen Klopp made positive substitutions in the 2nd half which bore the result in the end.

Made some decent saves throughout the match, but was unlucky to concede three goals.

Looked shaky and didn’t absorb the pressure well. A big contrast from the previous match.
Matteo Darmian: 5
Looked composed and more prominent than the other two central defenders.

Started well, but was culpable for the third goal that deflected off him.
Victor Lindelof: 4
Was tense at times and not the performance he would have liked.
Ashley Young: 2
Had a hand in conceding two goals. Lacked the authority tonight.
Nemanja Matic: 3
Slowed the game down and looked tedious at times.
Ander Herrera: 5
Was better than his partner and looked decent in the first 45 minutes. The intensity dropped from there on.
Jesse Lingard: 6
Scored the equaliser for the visitors.
Marcus Rashford: 5
Looked determined and played with intensity, But the youngster failed to track back for Shaqiri’s winning goal.
Romelu Lukaku: 2
The Belgian was badly out of form and it showed on the pitch. Wasn’t in any sync and missed duels.

Looked clumsy and didn’t bring the threat.
Anthony Martial: 4
Didn’t have much of an impact after coming in late.

Like Martial, the Spaniard came in late and did nothing.
