What De Gea Said To Mourinho In Dressing Room After Liverpool Loss

Fortune certainly favors the bold, and Liverpool proved as much with their 3-1 win against Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.

With that victory, they still remain confidently atop the Premier League table, yet to taste defeat in their campaign so far, playing that finest football they have in years.

In sharp contrast, Manchester United’s season is falling into all sorts of trouble, with the illustrious side being unable to string together consistent victories.

During the first half on Sunday, Sadio Mane’s opener was luckily equalized by Jesse Lingard, who had capitalized on a rare Alisson error to make it 1-1.

However, the second-half ruined what little hope United may have held, and all due to the introduction of a Swiss man by the name of Xherdan Shaqiri.

Klopp’s substitute netted two goals to secure Liverpool their long-awaited victory against United, although he was lucky to have done so. Both goals were buried in the back of the net courtesy of deflections from Red Devils, the first from Ashley Young and the winner through Eric Bailly.

Speaking after the full-time whistle, Mourinho actually revealed what David De Gea felt about those two goals:

“David is saying in the dressing room two easy balls for him, and because of the rebounds [deflections] he had no chance. If you want to speak about fortunate you speak their second and third goals.”

One must feel bad for the Spaniard for the end result. His facial expression throughout the game painted a sorry picture.

Mourinho added: “Liverpool are the strong team, but it’s hard to concede two goals in the moment we conceded and the way the goals happened. Our difficult moment was the first 20 minutes. We couldn’t cope with their fantastic intensity and pressing, but then we were quite calm and it was controlled.”
