Rooney Reveals What He Texted Solskajer Before Cardiff vs Man Utd
It’s a happy day for Manchester United fans, and no, you did not read that wrong. Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s debut game in-charge of the club not only ended with all three points, but it ticked a lot of other boxes as well.
Entertainment, high quality, freedom, and the willingness to be ruthless on the pitch were all evident in a 5-star performance from the Red Devils.
Cardiff City were beaten 5-1 by Ole’s men in the Premier League last night, making this the first time that United scored these many in a single league game since Sir Alex Ferguson’s last one as boss, against West Brom.
The good wishes kept flooding in, and the supporters of the club have already seen a reflection of the United they once fell in love with.

One person that surely enjoyed the performance was Wayne Rooney, who also later revealed that he might have played the smallest part in making this night a reality for the United fans.
The former skipper of the club stated (via BT Sport): “I played with Ole, so I thought I’d give him a message of congratulations, my feelings of how it’s been from speaking to some players and what I felt needs to change.

“First of all it was just get the lads enjoying playing football. I think that’s what the lads wanted, that’s what they were after and he’s definitely the guy to make them do that.”
It is fair to say the caretaker manager took the club’s leading goalscorer’s advice seriously.
Rooney also added that it was “the right decision” to sack Jose Mourinho, before claiming that nobody at Old Trafford was happy with life under the Portuguese.
