Sir Alex Ferguson is unarguably one of the biggest legends in the history of English football, having single-handedly established Manchester United as the best club in the land.

The magnitude of his genius is evident to this day from the very fact that the Red Devils still haven’t properly replaced him, with three world-class managers failing to emulate his success at Old Trafford since his departure in 2013.

The legendary Scot hasn’t been much involved with the club since his retirement, as neither of the three managers that succeeded him wished to seek his input.

Further, the 76-year-old also suffered some severe health issues earlier this year, as he was hospitalized due to a brain hemorrhage, and required emergency surgery and intensive care.

But now, after having returned to optimal health, Sir Alex has also made a sensational comeback to Manchester United, if the latest report from The Sun is to be believed.

The English news outlet claims that the Mancunian giants have welcomed their legendary boss back in a brand new consulting role, and SAF will now be tasked with making full use of his valuable experience and expertise to advise the top officials at the club.

In fact, the report indicates that it was Sir Alex who actually pulled the strings during the appointment of new caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his assistant Mike Phelan.

Further, after repeatedly vetoing consulting Sir Alex and subsequently making some very poor judgements, Ed Woodward now intends to fully heed the Scot’s advice, and make the football-related decisions accordingly.

Given the unparalleled footballing brain that Ferguson possesses, it is of no doubt that Solskjaer, and Manchester United as a whole, are set to benefit tremendously from this no-brainer appointment.
