The traveling side utterly dominated Chelsea, and proved that they didn’t lack for morale after the defeat to PSG in the Champions League.
Throughout the game, it was the stand-out performance of Ander Herrera that summarized United’s raw passion. Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the midfielder has been somewhat of a silent presence, quietly engineering forward runs with his impeccable passing and steady presence.
The Chelsea outing was no different, as he virtually covered both ends of the pitch. Even before Herrera scored the opener, he had tried for spectacular shots. However, the moment that fans seemed to most enjoy came after the full-time whistle.

The comments were in favor of this attitude from the Spaniard, and the cries for him to be given a new contract were loud and clear. One hopeful fan even speculated as to how Herrera could probably make a brilliant manager in the future.

Speaking about his role in the game after the full-time whistle, Herrera stated: “I played today a more offensive role because we knew they struggle in that side of the pitch. When you play with these type of players you can make those sort of runs.”
Confidence is back in heaps at Manchester United, and the class that players like Herrera hold is further testament to just what this team can achieve.
Hopes are high, and the FA Cup certainly seems like an achievable target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who may not have to wait until the end of this season to see the full-time gig being handed over to him.
