REVEALED: The Reason Behind Romelu Lukaku’s Recent Goalscoring Form
A change is pre-match diet may have sparked Romelu Lukaku’s recent goalscoring form.
After having suffered through nine games without scoring a goal, the Belgian international bagged three successive braces in his previous three appearances, against the likes of Crystal Palace, Southampton, and Paris Saint-Germain respectively.
The goals against PSG were arguably the most important of the lot, as they helped Manchester United complete a historic comeback and proceed to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
Now, the Daily Mail has claimed that this rich vein of goalscoring form may be down to a change in the star striker’s diet before the games.

The 25-year-old supposedly replaced pasta with a much lighter dish of ham and cheese omelettes in each of his previous three appearances, and ended up scoring a combined tally of six goals.
Lukaku had previously admitted that he has been trying to shed all the bulk he gained for the 2018 World Cup, and his shirtless goal celebrations of late evidently indicate that he has gotten consistently leaner as the season approaches its tail-end.

Apart from the change in diet, a switch in tactics made by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also seems to have aided the ex-Everton star, who now boasts of a far more dangerous presence on the pitch.
The Norwegian gaffer himself admitted to as much, as he stated: “We need Rom facing the goal and not with his back to it. He’s been asked to play wide a few times.
“We played with two up against PSG – him and Marcus Rashford – and they might form a nice partnership. I wouldn’t like to be a defender with those two running at me.”
