REVEALED: The Man Solskjaer Wants As Man United’s Sporting Director

Manchester United will soon make a massive change to the way the club functions. Apart from the huge overhaul of players in their roster which is set to occur in the summer transfer window, the Mancunian giants will also see a change in personnel elsewhere in their hierarchy.

Now, the Times reveals who Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would have at the spot. The Norwegian gaffer allegedly prefers Mike Phelan to land the position. Phelan’s name has been doing the rounds as the frontrunner for the position for quite a while now.

This is quite understandable, as the two men have shared a wonderful rapport during Solskjaer’s months at Old Trafford.

While the gaffer has brought an attacking spirit and winning mentality to the team, it is the tactics and experience of Phelan that truly powered the squad into appearing like a Sir Alex Ferguson side when the lads initially ran rampant under the new management.

Further, it is understood that such a move would be preferred by the higher-ups at the club. For other spots as well, the club is understood to be looking at former players.

In particular, they wish for individuals who were around during SAF’s glory days, as that’s the kind of success they are hoping to replicate under Solskjaer.
