Paul Pogba will have to hand in a transfer request to force his way to Real Madrid.

The Manchester United talisman appears to have made his desire to join Zinedine Zidane at the Spanish capital club quite clear to the top officials at Old Trafford.

Red Devils’ boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who initially intended to build his team around Pogba, is now open to the prospect of letting the Frenchman go, as he does not wish to hold onto an unhappy player during his first full season at the Theatre of Dreams.

However, The Sun suggests that Pogba might still have to hand in a transfer request to officially head out the exit door, because of Ed Woodward.

The club’s executive vice-chairman does not want Pogba to leave this summer, as he believes the midfielder’s departure will cause damage to the Mancunian outfit’s reputation.

The Reds have already missed out on Champions League football following a disastrous Premier League campaign this time around, and Pogba’s exit will further affect Manchester United‘s standing as one of the biggest clubs in the world.

However, Zidane has already made it clear that this could be Pogba’s final chance to secure a move to the Bernabeu, as the French tactician himself is set to conduct a squad overhaul this summer.

Therefore, the £120m-rated midfielder will be left with no choice but to officially hand in a transfer request if he is to successfully finalise his transfer to Real Madrid.
