Harry Maguire Wants To Become Captain Of Manchester United
Harry Maguire’s saga has certainly featured numerous ups and downs.
If the positive reports from last Sunday indicating that both Manchester United and Leicester City had agreed to a fee for the defender were to be believed, some imminent steps like a medical ought to have occurred by now.
However, that hasn’t taken place and most reports clearly indicate that a deal is still being worked out between the two Premier League clubs.
For the most part, it still seems that the offer that United are putting up isn’t up to the mark of the valuation that the Foxes are sticking onto Maguire.

Despite that, the Sun claims that the player himself is still very much inclined to move to Old Trafford. This is in line with past reports that outlined the 26-year-old’s intention.
The report adds that Maguire wishes to attain the captain’s arm-band after securing the move to United.
It seems that former club greats like Steve Bruce, Nemanja Vidic, and Rio Ferdinand are all highly regarded by the Englishman and he wants to follow in their footsteps by acquiring the coveted title of club-captain.

This is certainly an interesting prospect and is in line with the role he’d be fulfilling at the club if signed- that of a leader in the heart of their defense. United have lacked such a presence for a long time and have certainly been punished for not securing such a reinforcement in past windows.
The same argument is being used by frustrated supporters who are balking at the possibility that Ed Woodward and company may be trying to lower the asking price to a more bargain rate.
Presently, an £80-85 million transfer fee is believed to be on the cards. However, on a worrying note for United supporters, reports have also indicated that Leicester will close the negotiations altogether if a deal isn’t secured by a certain date, probably due to their own concerns of signing Maguire’s replacement.
