Solskjaer Interested In Signing Former Tottenham Striker Fernando Llorente

The summer transfer window deadline on Thursday does tickle many options for clubs like Manchester United who have once again been linked to a host of names.
Some involve completing season-long pursuits like those for Bruno Fernandes. Others include conflicting attempts for the likes of Christian Eriksen and Sergej Milinković-Savić.
On a third foot, United will also have to carry out their possible departures deftly, ensuring that Paul Pogba stays despite the attempts from Real Madrid and that an adequate deal is met from either Inter or Juventus to facilitate the departure of Romelu Lukaku.
However, there is also a signing that the Mancunian giants could make after the window.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Manchester United are considering signing Fernando Llorente to bolster their options up-front. The former Tottenham Hotspur striker was released as a free-agent at the end of last season and is now looking for a club.
It appears that United could make use of him after the window closes and a thorough evaluation of their options. This could mean that the club is looking at alternative signings as well.

The probable departure of Lukaku will promote Marcus Rashford as the primary striker at Old Trafford, with Mason Greenwood also likely to be given a more regular first-team role. As shown in the pre-season, Anthony Martial may also function as the no.9 in the starting lineup.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may not be entirely confident on his striking options sans-Lukaku and would prefer to make an experienced addition before the start of the season. As of such, Llorente’s status as a free-agent gives them the luxury of time as he can be signed beyond deadline day.
The club was previously linked to Juventus’ Mario Mandzukic in the same regard. The 34-year-old Llorente certainly qualifies on the experience front, although fans may be wary of a player of his age plying his trade at Old Trafford.
