Alexis Sanchez to Inter Milan is all but done. The Chilean forward was spotted in Milan on Wednesday as he draws closer to seal his summer move away from Manchester United.

Most reports point to the former Barcelona and Arsenal forward making a loan move to the Serie A club. It is understood that the delay in hammering out the final deal was due to a disagreement on what portion of Sanchez’ massive wage package would be fulfilled by United.

Now, United are reportedly going to pay around £9 million of his total £16 million wage bill. However, as of now, there is no indication of whether or not Inter have the option to purchase the striker at the end of the loan spell.

This move will see Sanchez reunited with Romelu Lukaku. Now, it appears as if the Belgian had a massive role to play in ensuring the former made the switch.

According to the Daily Mail, Sanchez was the subject of repeated calls from Lukaku, urging the Chilean to join him at Milan.

The former Everton striker allegedly ‘begged’ Sanchez to make the move. In particular, it seems that Lukaku sold Milan to United’s no.7 by highlighting the beauty of the locale and the better environment to the one at Manchester.

This certainly indicates that Lukaku was immensely pleased with his initial impressions at the side. The striker netted his debut goal for Inter on Tuesday during a 4-0 win over Lecce.

Antonio Conte is reportedly excited at the prospect of Sanchez joining his ranks and has abandoned the club’s pursuit for Paulo Dybala as the 30-year-old fulfills a similar role.

It wouldn’t be a big surprise if the duo who had a largely poor spell at Old Trafford retain their playing mojo in the Serie A. Good riddance or a hurried piece of business?
