David De Gea To Reject Man United Contract – Unhappy With Club’s New Policy
Manchester United’s roster has been looked at critically for a while now. Even prior to their present run of poor games, it was believed that the Red Devils simply didn’t have the requisite quality to compete at the top level just yet.
It wouldn’t be far-fetched to presume that the Old Trafford roster is simply in a state of unrealized potential and players who are unable to regain their previous great form.
Amidst these, David De Gea, in particular, has been singled out as the player who has taken a massive dip in form, with his failure to stop the goals in the previous three encounters showcasing a worrying sight.
Now, the player’s tryst with United may have taken a bigger turn.

As per the Sun, David De Gea has continued to stall on his contract extension at Old Trafford and could run his deal through and look at other options as a free agent next summer.
The deal on the table from the higher-ups at the Mancunian giants is believed to have been a wage package that would have given the Spaniard upwards of £350,000-a-week.
Moreover, the report reckons that the shotstopper has told his Spanish teammates that he is seriously considering the free-agent route.

In particular, the player and his negotiators are believed to be peeved at United’s policy of instating a 25% pay-cut in the contracts of the players in the event they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
This clause has proven to be a sticking point in past instances as well.
Further, the report also mentions claims made earlier about the destination that De Gea could move to in the summer as a free-agent.
As of such, a concrete arc in the player’s career can arrive in January itself if he decides to sign a pre-contract.
