Fans React To Manchester United’s Embarrassing FIFA 20 Ratings

Manchester United’s antics on the pitch are certainly something to be worried about as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men haven’t unleashed the renaissance that was promised.

In their first four games of the season, only their 4-0 win over Chelsea was a game of some positives as draws to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton kept up the mediocrity and a shocking loss to Crystal Palace posed some big questions of the team.

Over the years, the club has certainly had a steep descent from their former heights of greatness. This is also reflected in their FIFA 2020 ratings.

The popular game often broadly illustrates the travails and successes of the clubs they represent. While the individual player ratings are by no means an accurate reflection of how these talents truly function, the commercial swagger of a highly-rated team cannot be denied.

However, now that the official FIFA ratings of the Manchester United’s main roster have been announced, the mediocrity does represent itself starkly.

The pacey frontline is done justice in Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Daniel James, with the first two each championing an overall of 83 while the fresh Welsh signing managed a mere 72.

In the midfield too, the ratings aren’t that high, with Paul Pogba being predictably assigned an overall of 88, with Juan Mata and Scott McTominay boasting 82 and 77 overalls respectively.

The backline is perhaps the most underrated lot, with new signings Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka touting only 82 and 79 overalls respectively.

Their fellow defenders Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof have ratings of 81 each.

Lastly, Pogba’s high evaluation is trumped only by David De Gea’s 89 as the Spaniard takes the top spot in the first-team.

The substitute’s bench screams the same lack of options and quality as Solskjaer’s actual team with 82-rated Jesse Lingard and 81-rated Nemanja Matic the only noteworthy players.
