West Ham vs Manchester United: Potential Lineups
Manchester United are on the road and will be facing West Ham United in a bid to change their away fortunes.
The Hammers are poised on the same amount of points as their Mancunian opponents and will be looking to put up a strong display as well.
Here’s how the two teams are bound to lineup for the fixture:
West Ham
Manuel Pellegrini’s 50th game in charge of the Hammers is bound to be an eventful one as the home-side boast of a strong recent record against the Red Devils.
In terms of injury, they could very well be without Manuel Lanzini for the game while suspension will also keep Arthur Masuaku away from the fixture due to the red card he picked up against Aston Villa.
West Ham’s long-term absentee list is populated by Winston Reid and Michail Antonio.
Pellegrini’s side is shy of scoring despite being defensively apt and will be looking to amend that against Solskjaer’s team on Sunday.
Goalkeeper: Fabianski
Defenders: Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Zabaleta
Midfielders: Rice, Noble
Forwards: Yarmolenko, Lanzini, Anderson; Haller
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Manchester United
Injuries remain a concern for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite the European squad-rotation against FC Astana.
Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba remain injured, while Luke Shaw will also be an assured miss for the fixture. Further, the boss was also doubtful about the fitness of Daniel James who was in fiery form until last week’s clash against Leicester City.
Marcus Rashford’s lack of clinical presence up-front and Mason Greenwood’s impressive showing could entail a role-reversal although it is unclear how much responsibility the Norwegian will entrust upon the teenager.
United’s midfield has been in great form as of recent and it will be interesting to see if Fred’s strong European game will be rewarded with a Premier League start.
Goalkeeper: De Gea
Defenders: Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Young
Midfielders: McTominay, Fred
Forwards: Pereira, Gomes, Rashford; Greenwood
Formation: 4-2-3-1
