Juventus Director General and Sports Department CEO, Giuseppe Marotta, established this week that the Italian Champions are interested in securing the services of Alexis Sanchez.

Goal reported a meeting between Marotta and El Mecurio, in which Marotta spoke about Juve pursuing the Chilean winger, and also acknowledging that Wenger remains reluctant to let the star man leave his side.

Juventus were also believed to have placed a €44 million bid to try and tempt the North London side into letting go of Sanchez, reports Chilean newspaper El Mecurio.

In the interview between the El Mecurio and Juve General, Giuseppe Marotta, the Italian opened up:

“Sanchez is a great player, but Arsenal have no intention of selling,” Marotta revealed. “Arsenal said that the Chilean attacker is non-transferable and that he is not on the market.”

Alexis Sanchez joined Arsenal back in 2014, for a fee of just over £30 million. The Chilean winger has since been a pivotal member of the English side, scoring 29 goals in his 65 appearances for the Gunners.

During his time in England, Alexis has helped Arsenal secure the 2014-15 FA as well as the 2014 and 2015 editions of the FA Community Shield.

Last season (2015-16) saw the Chilean play a part in almost 20 goals in 30 League appearances – helping his side finish above their bitter rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.

The reason that Wenger is reluctant to let go of Alexis Sanchez may be due to the fact that Arsenal have a history of letting their star player leave the club – Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie, for example. Both these players went on the win the Premier League after leaving Arsenal.

It is safe to assume that Alex Sanchez will remain at Arsenal for the coming season, and will play a crucial role in the squad, as Arsenal try to secure their first Premier League title in over a decade.
