Manchester United are amongst the few clubs in the world who boast of an illustrious list of academy graduates who went on to become the best that European football had to offer.

In the present lot of graduates, Paul Pogba certainly occupies that world-class position. However, under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, a new generation of academy graduates have enjoyed the spotlight and their breakthrough form has led several spectators to expect big things from them.

Pogba himself was all too pleased with their antics.

Speaking to club’s official website about the recent great form of United’s youth academy graduates, Pogba opined: “I think and I hope I can help them. I said to a lot of the young players who have been with the first team: “Guys, you don’t know how lucky you are”. Unfortunately for us, we’ve had a lot of injured players and it’s therefore a big chance for the young players to be involved with the first team.”

The French midfielder goes on to add: “So I say to them: “Take your chance, play, you are young, you have quality, you have nothing to be afraid of”. I hope I can give them the good example when I’m on the pitch and outside the pitch and, even though I don’t see myself as old, I hope that the young players will, one day, come and take my position [when I finish playing].”

He also acknowledged the brilliance of specific names: “Mason Greenwood is scoring goals, Brandie [Brandon Williams] has been playing games like he’s been there for six months already. This is about what the club is about and what the manager wants.”

It goes without saying that the World Cup winner is desperate to return to regular action with the Red Devils and going by how the next generation have been performing, many of them are bound to share a pitch with Pogba.
