Stats Show Fred Was The Best Man Utd Player Against Newcastle
When Man Utd first purchased Fred, eyebrows were raised. The expensive midfielder appeared to hold hype more due to the fact that Man City were allegedly trumped to his signature and that Jose Mourinho had finally found his Brazilian, than in actual performances.
As of such, most of the fans were in for a disappointment when the Brazilian’s past brilliance couldn’t be immediately replicated in the Premier League.
In fact, when United were facing heavy criticism, the large sum paid for the likes of Fred and invested in Alexis Sanchez’s salary was repeatedly touted to be testament to the club’s downfall.
However, in the recent games, the midfielder has finally flourished into the vital cog that United badly require.
This was manifested best in Man Utd’s 4-1 thumping of Newcastle and the statistics speak for themselves.

Simply put, Fred was arguably the most complete midfielder on the pitch and his contributions were crucial to the club’s convincing win. The passing ethos and creative energy he injected is precisely what appeared to be lacking for much of the past campaigns.
In fact, now that Scot MctTominay appears to be out with another injury, the pairing of Fred and Paul Pogba in the midfield will catch many eyes.

There is no denying that flaws still exist in the United lineup. However, when Fred continues to put up such performances, much hope can be gathered in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s frustrating yet patient rebuild at Old Trafford.
With Nemanja Matic touted for departure this winter and much of the other midfielders unsure at the club, Fred will be instrumental to the club’s long-term success.
Finally the Brazilian that Mourinho oh so desperately wanted? Getting there.
