Fans React To Man City’s Ban From The Champions League

Astonishing the football world, Man City have received a ban from European competitions for two seasons with a hefty fine for committing serious breaches of UEFA’s club licensing and financial fair play regulations.

The fine tagged being €30 million, the ban is now subject to an appeal from the Mancunian Giants, as they claim the decision to be purely a case of prejudice.

The Independent Adjudicatory Chamber of the Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) has stated that the English side had broken the rules by overstating its sponsorship revenue in its accounts and in the break-even information submitted to UEFA between 2012 and 2016.

The Pep Guardiola’s side is also reported to have failed to cooperate in the investigation.

With the club having opted to go for an appeal it’s not yet confirmed, however there are supporters of a few English clubs eagerly waiting for a negative response to the appeal.

If Pep Guardiola’s side were to be banned, then it’s possible that the 5th position on the table would ensure the team qualifying for the Champions League actions next season.

With Man City’s CL ban coming into effect, the team that finishes 5th will now qualify for next season’s competition.
