Scholes: When I Think Of Fernandes The Only Other Player I Can Think Of Is De Bruyne
Getting praised by a club legend is certainly a moment footballers cherish, and Paul Scholes has now spoken highly of Bruno Fernandes, following his performance in the Club Brugge fixture.
Undoubtedly the Portuguese has been in a form worthy of such praises, showcasing quick adaptation to the new environment, making use of his vision, awareness and control to the fullest at Old Trafford.
Rewarding the English side with a dramatic victory last fixture, the talented playmaker had a key role in securing the win, even contributing to the scoreline directly with a converted spot kick.
Accordingly, the urge of the Old Trafford faithful to title him as the best in the Premier League is understandable to an extent, although one would have to ignore the likes of Kevin de Bruyne in order to make such a proposition.

Nevertheless, Scholes believes that the Portugal international is right up there, as he discussed on BT Sport after United’s 5-0 Europa League win.
“When I think of him the only other player I can think of is Kevin De Bruyne at Manchester City,” Scholes said.
“He [De Bruyne] is the best player in the Premier League but Fernandes is right up there. It was a perfect night and there were a lot of very good performances.
“Fernandes stood out and he controlled the pace of play. He looks like he has brought this team to life. You wonder where United would be now if he had come last summer. He has made such a difference to this team. You just wonder why we didn’t go for him last summer.”
“He has made a team that did not look that watchable at times look exciting and very watchable right now.”
Regardless, the supporters are wishing for the star to continue performing his magic, to see their club rise to great heights after a while.
