Aaron Wan-Bissaka ‘Is The Best One-On-One Defender’ In The World
Manchester United went out of their way to get the better of their local rivals Manchester City when they soundly defeated them 2-0 on Sunday.
The Premier League encounter set several numbers rolling and records were set as the Red Devils completed the League double over the Sky Blues for the first time in a decade. The win was orchestrated by a thoroughly impressive showing from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad, who made next to no mistakes in keeping up all three points.
However, individual moments of brilliance also engineered the outcome and perhaps the most spectacular of the same came from Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The English full-back’s numbers were outstanding and he was particularly impactful in pocketing Raheem Sterling.

This feat of his was singled out by Jammie Carragher who said the following on Sky Sport’s Monday Night Football (via Evening Standard): “It’s almost become a massive rivalry this. Yes it’s the two Manchester clubs, but it’s [also] Raheem Sterling against Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
However, it is what Carragher went on to say that is more vital, as he adds: “Sterling is one of the best three or four wide players in the world but Wan-Bissaka’s saying: ‘Come on, you’re not going to get past me’.

“I actually think Wan-Bissaka is the best one-on-one defender as a full-back in the world. I don’t think anyone would get the better of him.”
A glimmering review from one of the club’s staunchest critics.
Much ado was raised in the summer when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer invested £50 million to bring Wan-Bissaka to Old Trafford from Crystal Palace. However, with performances like these, the right-back does more than enough to silence those critics and pocketing them while at it.
