Fans Ask Woodward To Make New Signings As United Lose First Game Of The Season
Manchester United lost their season opener to Crystal Palace 3-1 at Old Trafford as fans were left livid by their side’s performance.
The Red Devils never looked in the mood to do anything as the Eagles opened the scoring early on via Andros Townsend. Second-half VAR drama saw a penalty go against Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s men.
There too Jordan Ayew’s initial casual attempt, saved by David De Gea, had to be retaken. Wilfried Zaha made no mistake burying the regulation penalty due to the Spaniard being off the line. In the dying moments of the match, whatever joy that Donny van de Beek’s debut goal could muster was left in vain as Zaha struck again to gift Palace their second consecutive Premier League away win to United.
Fans made no mistake in storming to Twitter to critique their team and the majority of the blame was hurled at Ed Woodward.
Man Utd being humiliated by Woy is probably the best thing that could have happened for them
Now the Glazers & Woodward will surely realise they have to spend to have any hope of winning something this season
Then again, this is the Glazers and Woodward #MUNCRY

If Woodward is responsible for signings and transfers why isn’t he the one getting sacked?

Instead of Ed Woodward coming out and attacking the fans for wanting our club to do better, maybe he should listen to the “mass hysteria” that we’ve been shouting all summer. It was glaringly obvious how pathetic our squad was going into the new season. So incompetent.

To be fair to Woodward he arranged a fantastic deal for the Glazers. They’ve hardly had to pay anything to own Manchester United. 😳

Patrice Evra: “I’m burning inside. There’s so much negativity about the transfer window and the club have done nothing about it. For me, it’s de ja vu, I’m exhausted and it’s only the first day of the season”

The higher-ups at Old Trafford had a mute transfer campaign, only seeing van de Beek’s arrival. The Jadon Sancho travesty was further pitied by the club’s failure to see through deals for Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale, both of whom Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur lapped up.
This fixture, however, unveiled more flaws than just the right-wing spot. An awful performance from Victor Lindelof, both in poor marking for giving away the first and third goals as well as the hand-ball that gave away the penalty, reinforced an oft-repeated argument. If Solskjær is to have balance in his team, then the Swede simply needs to have more competition for his spot.
Likewise, poor flank-play by Timothy Fosu-Mensah may also beg for options there whereas a relatively quiet frontline further highlights the desperate need for a new source of goals.
The transfer window did not mark a good start for United’s season and this won’t make matters any better.
