David De Gea is reluctant to leave Old Trafford, and he has instructed his agent Jorge Mendes to reject Real Madrid, as per latest sources.

The decorated goalkeeper has been under Madrid’s radar for quite a while now, and was ever so close to joining the La Liga giants in the summer of 2015 before a faulty fax machine ruined the transfer.

Furthermore, in July, Jose Mourinho declared that he had proposed De Gea an opportunity to join Los Blancos, but claimed that the Spanish club did not make an offer, according to Metro.

And now, El Confidencial has claimed that the 27-year-old clearly maintained that he wanted to continue at Old Trafford when he was approached by his agent upon the instruction of Madrid’s president.

De Gea reportedly told Mendes: ‘Real Madrid? I’m the goalkeeper of Manchester United and Spain. What more could I ask for?’

The report also declares that the Spaniard is contentful in Manchester, given the fact that he’s able to move around the city without being bothered – something which would be arduous to do in the Spanish town.

With the current contract remaining intact till 2019, an offer for the Spanish international, irrespective of which club, would be in vain, as he is fixated on serving the Red Devils.

Regardless, the Spanish giants are about to sign a new goalkeeper in the form of Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Galacticos are set to cash his €20 million (£17.5m) buyout clause in the hopes of securing his services in the winter window.
