Diego Godin Says He Will Never Leave Atletico Madrid Amid Manchester United Transfer Link

Uruguay international Diego Godin has ended any talk of a move to Manchester United by stating that he’ll stay with Atletico ‘to the death’.

The 29-year-old has been at Atletico Madrid since 2010 and helped the Spanish club secure the La Liga title in 2014.

Having impressed at the Vicente Calderon, the Uruguay international has frequently been linked with a big-money move away, and the likes of Manchester United have shown interest.

However, the centre-back has committed himself to the club.

“I’m with Atletico to the death,” Godin told AS.

“I’m a fan again, I’ve become enchanted by the club, so I decided to stay and every day I’m happier I made that decision.

“I feel I can give more to Atletico and we can achieve important things. The best is yet to come.”
