All-Time Liverpool and Manchester United Combined XI: Carragher Leaves Gerrard Out
Liverpool and Manchester United will play each other for the first time in a European competition, as Liverpool host the Red Devils at Anfield for the first leg of their Europa League Round of 16 tie.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has named his all-time Liverpool and Manchester United combined XI for the Daily Mail, and surprisingly, both Steven Gerrard and Paul Scholes could not find a place in his legendary XI.

Here’s his explanation:
“Bobby Charlton is the greatest English player of all time and takes the attacking midfield role, with Graeme Souness the more defensive one because of his passing as well as his aggression.
“And that means two of my favourite players – Roy Keane and even my old mate Steven Gerrard – miss out.”
