French Forward Responds To Paris Saint-Germain Transfer Speculation

According to French publication Le 10 Sport, Laurent Blanc sees Anthony Martial as a long-term striking option for the Ligue 1 champions PSG, as both Ibrahimovic and Cavani are set for move away from the French capital this summer.

However, when asked whether he could leave United, Martial told RTL:

“They are not at the top of the top [Manchester United, at the moment], but I hope that next year they will be.

“For sure this year things have been difficult. We didn’t qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League, we are currently 5th. I hope that we will be able to win our next seven games and come back into the race for 4th.

“[Van Gaal] wants me to be a perfectionist and I think it is like that that I will progress. He has allowed me to progress enormously.

“He has also given me an enormous amount of confidence and I think it is thanks to this that I have succeeded with my start at United.

“He is a very good coach. In his nature he seems cold on the exterior but he is a very good coach, he is nice. When we win, he is happy.”

The Golden boy award winner rejected a move to Chelsea last year and joined Manchester United instead, for a fee of £36 million, thereby becoming the world’s most expensive teenager in the process.

The 20-year-old has scored 12 goals and bagged 7 assists across all competitions, with only captain Wayne Rooney ahead of him in netting goals for Red Devils this season.
