Lewandowski Urges Gotze To Ignore ‘Silly’ Liverpool Rumours
Robert Lewandowksi has urged Mario Gotze to reject the ‘silly’ advances from Liverpool and concentrate on proving himself at Bayern Munich, according to Liverpool Echo.
As per various reports, Gotze is being targeted by his former boss Jurgen Klopp, who supposedly wants to build his Liverpool side around the 23-year-old attacking midfielder.
However, Robert Lewandowski, who also played under Klopp alongside Gotze at Dortmund, has labeled the talk of Gotze leaving Bayern for Liverpool as ‘silly’.
Lewandowski was quoted saying: “Mario proved during the international break that he is always capable of showing what he can do and that he is a great player.
“He should not be reading what people say about him in the papers. He does not need all the extra pressure. Mario knows how to deal with it, though. He is used to it.
“It is silly that there is so much talk about him. He is a Bayern player and he has plenty of games left until the end of the season to prove that he is good enough for Bayern.
“He has plenty of time to prove his critics wrong. He should stay at Bayern for a long time because he is a great player.”
The out of favour World Cup winner has not only been linked with his former boss’s Liverpool, but also with his former club Borussia Dortmund.
But with Ancelotti replacing Guardiola as Bayern boss this summer, Mario Gotze could very well experience a positive change in his fortune at the Bavarian club.
