Nick Powell To Miss Rest Of The Season Due To Injury
Hull City midfielder Nick Powell has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury.
The 22-year-old midfielder moved from Manchester United to Hull City on loan in February 2016, but has barely featured for the Tigers due to persistent hamstring problems.
And now, the Englishman has suffered yet another injury, this time whilst training with the first team on Tuesday.
Hull City manager Steve Bruce was quoted as saying: “Nick re-injured himself on Tuesday when he was just stepping up his training with us for a second day.
“Unfortunately he pulled a thigh. I don’t think we’ll see him again before the end of the season.
“Normally you’re looking at three or four weeks for an injury like this. We might be able to see him again and I wouldn’t rule him out totally but it’s going to be difficult given the way he went over. He just pulled up and when you do that, it’s usually three or four weeks I would have thought.”
Nick Powell’s contract with Manchester United is set to expire in June 2016, and since he isn’t being rated highly by manager Louis van Gaal, it looks like his career with the Red Devils will come to an end this summer.
