AC Milan have sacked Sinisa Mihajlovic and replaced him with their youth-team coach Cristian Brocchi until the end of the season.
Mihajlovic left Sampdoria and replaced Filippo Inzaghi as the new Milan boss last June. He managed to take the Italian giants to the Coppa Italia final, and to the sixth position in the Serie A table, before getting dismissed after merely 10 months in charge.
Milan’s 2-1 defeat to league leaders Juventus on Saturday, which extended their winless run to five matches, proved the final straw for Mihajlovic.
The club’s official statement read: “Sinisa Mihajlovic has been relieved of his role as AC Milan coach. The club would like to thank Mihajlovic for the dedication and hard work carried out this season.”
Mihajlovic’s replacement Cristian Brocchi now becomes the fifth coach to take charge of Milan in the past three seasons.
