Francesco Totti’s Four Minute Cameo Saves Roma vs. Torino
This season may turn out to be Francesco Totti’s last at Roma, but he has not lost it.
Francesco Totti has struggled to get game time under manager Luciano Spalletti this season, and if nothing changes, the King of Rome, who is playing for them since 1992, could leave his hometown club in the summer.
But yesterday, the Gladiator gave Roma fans one of the best nights of the season. He was called upon with his side down 2-1 late in the match, and spending only 23 seconds on the pitch, with his first touch of the game, he drew his side level via a deft far-post finish.
The winner came just two minutes later as the World Cup-winner slotted home a penalty to secure a last-gasp victory to maintain his side’s third place position.
The brace was Totti’s first in 15 months, the last one coming in the derby against Lazio on January 15 last year.
In his last three games, Totti has scored three times and set up one goal.
