Liverpool Fans React Furiously To Michael Owen’s Appointment As Liverpool Ambassador

Liverpool’s appointment of Michael Owen as an international ambassador has not been met well by some Liverpool supporters.

The current pundit for BT Sport and co-commentator came through the Liverpool youth system, and scored 158 goals in 297 appearances, whilst also being an integral part of the 2001 treble winning team.

The striker left Liverpool for Real Madrid in 2004, and after 12 months, returned to England with Newcastle United. In the summer of 2009, he decided to join Liverpool’s bitter rivals Manchester United, where he finally won the Premier League title – and from an Anfield hero, he went on to getting branded a ‘snake’ by the Reds’ supporters.

So when Liverpool announced yesterday that Michael Owen is club’s first international ambassador, Liverpool supporters went furious.
