Granit Xhaka is on his way to North London to complete his transfer to Arsenal, according to the player’s close friend and journalist Artan Muhaxhiri.

Xhaka has been on Arsenal’s wishlist for quite some time, and it is believed that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger identifies him as the perfect long-term replacement for the departing Mikel Arteta as well as Mathieu Flamini.

Borussia Mönchengladbach confirmed earlier this month that they had received an offer for the 23-year-old, as the club’s Sporting Director Max Eberl told Bild: “There is an offer, but it does not mean that we will allow Granit a transfer for that price. We really don’t need to discuss the fee proposed in the offer.”

And around the same time, reports from German site Rp-Online stated that Premier League giants Arsenal are the club to have submitted a bid for the Mönchengladbach midfielder, but it was most likely to be rejected because it fell short of the Bundesliga outfit’s high asking price, which is due to the fact that Xhaka’s contract with the club does not run out until 2019.

Sporting Director Max Eberl vowed to try his best to stop their star man from moving away from the club, by stating: “We will fight for Granit. There are clubs that can offer an even bigger chance of playing Champions League and competing for titles and trophies.”

However, Eberl’s efforts seem to have been for naught, with new reports now emerging that suggest Arsenal have finally agreed to meet Gladbach’s €30 million asking price. And to add fuel to the fire, Granit Xhaka’s close friend and journalist Artan Muhaxhiri confirmed on Facebook that the Switzerland midfielder is indeed traveling to England to finalize the move.

Muhaxhiri stated on facebook: “BREAKING NEWS: Just confirmed. Granit Xhaka is traveling to London to finalize an agreement with Arsenal FC! Congrats Granit #‎XhakaGooner‬.”

He also confirmed that Granit Xhaka, accompanied by his parents, will be traveling to London this Friday.
