Jose Mourinho And Louis Van Gaal To Work Together At Manchester United
Jose Mourinho is all set to join Louis van Gaal at Manchester United, according to SunSport.
Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United team has been consistently under performing throughout the season, especially in front of goal, much to the fans’ displeasure, as they are used to seeing a free-flowing Manchester United instead of what they have been calling a “boring” one.
A majority of the Old Trafford faithful, as well the Red Devils around the world, want to see a change in management, with the ‘Special One’ Jose Mourinho being their prime choice to replace Louis van Gaal. And as per numerous sources, the Portuguese tactician has indeed been the prime candidate to replace the Dutchman at the Manchester United helm this summer, with reports emerging regularly that state how the former Chelsea boss is always a step closer than he previously was in taking over at the Theatre of Dreams.
And now, the ‘Mourinho to Manchester United Saga’ has taken a new turn. As per SunSport, Louis van Gaal is set to step aside and let Jose Mourinho succeed him as the next boss. However, Van Gaal won’t be leaving the club at all! Instead, the former Netherlands manager will see out the final year of his three-year contract as Manchester United’s director of football.
The report suggests that United’s executive vice chairman Ed Woodward still wants to use Louis van Gaal’s tremendous footballing knowledge and vast experience at the topmost level of European football, but has now accepted that a managerial change is a must, which is why Jose Mourinho will become the next United manager, and Van Gaal will take over the role of director of football.
Mourinho and Van Gaal have previously shared a working relationship at FC Barcelona, and are believed to be good friends. But if this move does happen, it remains to be seen if these two massive egos, alongside Sir Alex Ferguson, can co-exist at a club as big as Manchester United.
