Arsenal Handed Boost As Morata Reveals His Desire To Play In England

Arsenal have received a major transfer boost as their prime attacking target Alvaro Morata has revealed his desire to play in the Premier League.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for Morata, as manager Arsene Wenger looks to bolster the team’s attack which has been suffering due to Olivier Giroud’s poor form and Danny Welbeck’s injuries. Morata, who looks set to leave Juventus this summer, is also being linked with his former club Real Madrid, but the Spanish striker took a slight dig at the 11 time European Champions in his latest interview, by saying he would rather play for a club where he is a guaranteed starter, and the one that makes him feel important.

Speaking to Spanish outlet AS, the 26-year-old stated: “Clearly that is what I would like. That is my wish, to succeed in Madrid. But in Madrid there are great players. And what I want is to play and feel important. There are some offers from England that are tempting, not only by contract.

“I think for my characteristics the Premier League would also be a great destination. I’m saying a move to the Premier League would not be a step backwards. With what I have learned in Italy, if I have the chance to learn something more in England I think it would make me a more complete, better player.”

Borussia Dortmund Midfielder Refuses To Commit Long-Term Future With The Club

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has apparently refused to commit his long term future with Borussia Dortmund.

Mkhitaryan has been one of Dortmund’s key players this season, and played a major role in helping the German giants finish second in the Bundesliga. His performances have seen him linked with Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea, but a price tag has not been set on the Armenian since his contract has no release clause, due to Dortmund’s new ‘no release clause’ policy.

The 27-year-old, however, has refused to commit his long term future with Dortmund, his agent Mino Raiola has revealed. Raiola said: “Why should we prolong it now? ‘Micki’ is under contract until 2017, and we continue to think about his future.”

Spurs And West Ham Go Head-To-Head In The Race To Sign Juventus Midfielder

Premier League clubs Tottenham and West Ham United are both interested in signing Juventus midfielder Roberto Pereyra, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.com.

Due to an enormous competition for a starting spot on Juventus’ midfield, Pereyra is looking for a move away, to a club where he’ll be a guaranteed starter. The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to West Ham for a while, but Spurs have now swooped in and look to convince the Argentinian to move to North London instead. However, the former Udinese man won’t be available for cheap, as the Serie A champions have slammed a price tag of £13 million on the attacking midfielder.

Bayern Munich Midfielder Keen On Joining Jurgen Klopp At Liverpool

Bayern midfielder Pierre Hojbjerg is interested in playing under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, as per Bundesliga expert Lee Price (via the Daily Star).

Liverpool, who are in search of a midfielder, have been heavily linked with Bayern’s star midfielder Mario Gotze, but the move has apparently broken down after the 2014 World Cup winner fired his agent and committed his future to the Bundesliga giants.

The Reds, however, have not given up, and are now looking to lure Pierre Hojbjerg away from the Bavarian club. The Danish international has spent the last two seasons away from the Allianz Arena, playing for Bundesliga clubs Schalke and Augsburg. The 20-year-old Danish international is also rumoured to be interested in playing under Klopp, and may complete a move to Merseyside this summer.

Manchester United Target Andre Gomes Hints Uncertainty About His Valencia Future

Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes has hinted that his future at the club is far from certain, amidst solid interest from Manchester United.

Gomes has been linked with a move to Old Trafford since his early Benfica days, and as per reports from the year 2014, the Portuguese international was being viewed as a replacement for United legend Paul Scholes. However, the English giants opted to sign Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao instead due to complications with Gomes’ ownership. But now, Red Devils’ new manager Jose Mourinho has renewed the club’s interest in the 22-year-old, as the Special One looks to sign the starlet so as to strengthen the current United squad.

United may be in pole position to sign Gomes due to the player and Mourinho sharing the same agent – Super Agent Jorge Mendes, but they aren’t the only ones interested in the midfielder. Italian giants Juventus have also shown interest, and as per Gianluca Di Marzio, the Serie A champions have already made an offer worth £22 million (plus bonuses) for Gomes. The offer was rejected by Valencia, however, as they value the player somewhere around £30 million.

Andre Gomes himself was asked about his future and interest from Manchester United in an interview with O Jogo, to which he replied: “This is not an important issue at this moment. We are focused on Portugal and that is what we are interested in speaking about. It does not matter much at this point, it’s all a mystery. Leaving Valencia? Talk to the president of the club.”
