Eric Bailly is free to join Manchester United if both clubs reach an agreement, Villareal’s chief executive has revealed.
Since Saturday, numerous news sources have been claiming that Manchester United are on the verge of bringing Villarreal center-back Eric Bailly to Old Trafford, with Marca claiming a £27.6 million fee has been agreed.
Villarreal chairman Fernando Roig Nogueroles has now confirmed that the club would be willing to do a deal for the Ivory Coast defender.
“There is a team that is very interested and if the three parties agree, there will be no problems,” Nogueroles told Marca.
“If the player wants to leave and Manchester are interested and pay, we will reach an agreement.”
A new centre-back is widely considered to be one of Jose’s biggest priorities, with Daley Blind looking physically weak at times in the heart of United’s defence.
