TRANSFER ROUNDUP: Man United Prepare Mammoth Offer For Pogba, Mane Undergoes Medical At Liverpool, And More
Dani Alves Signs For Juventus On A Two Year Deal
Dani Alves has completed his transfer to Juventus, the Italian giants have confirmed on their official website.
Alves has finally completed his long awaited move from Barcelona to Juventus. The Brazilian has agreed to join the Serie A club on a two-year contract which will last until 30 June 2018, with an option to extend for a third year.
Juventus released an official statement following the transfer, which read: “Juventus Football Club can today confirm that Dani Alves has agreed terms on a two-year contract with the club until 30 June 2018 with an option for an additional year…
“Having played a key role in one of the most trophy-laden spells of any club over the course of the game’s existence, including a history-making pair of domestic and European trebles at Barcelona, Alves’ transfer to Juventus marks the arrival of a natural-born winner and a true master of his trade…
“The Brazilian showed no signs of dropping his peerless standards in the most recent campaign and makes a first step into Italian football on the back of yet another productive past nine months on the field…
“Three UCL crowns, two UEFA Cups, five Copa del Rey trophies, five Spanish Super Cups, four UEFA Super Cups, three FIFA Club World Cups, six La Liga titles: such has been the course of Alves’ career so far, who would bet against adding to that astonishing tally in the coming two years?”
Sadio Mane Undergoes Medical At Liverpool
Southampton star man Sadio Mane is set to undergo his medical at Liverpool, as per Sky Sports.
According to the report, Liverpool have agreed to sign Sadio Mane from Southampton for a fee of £34 million, which will further rise up to £36 million. The further £2m will be paid on the basis of performance-related add-ons. The Senegalese International, who was also linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, will be a major boost to Jurgen Klopp’s attacking force, which appeared lacklustre many a times last season.
Klopp is rumoured to be a big admirer of Mane, and has reportedly kept an eye at the midfielder since his days at the helm of Borrusia Dortmund. The 24-year-old has scored 21 Premier League goals in 67 games since joining the Saints, 15 of which came last season – his most prolific one so far. He is now set to become the fifth Southampton player to join the Reds in the last three seasons, following Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne and Rickie Lambert.
Manchester United Interested In 14-year-old Wonderkid
Manchester United have shown interest in signing Valencia’s 14-year-old wonderkid Ferhat Cogalan.
The move was confirmed by Cogalan’s father Sedat, who told La Voix Du Nord: “We’re in no hurry because Ferhat is in contract with Valencia until 2021. But when a club like Manchester United invites us, it is logical that we study the proposal, right?”
Neymar Will Never Join Real Madrid, Claims His Father
The chances of Neymar moving from Barcelona to Real Madrid are “zero,” his father has revealed.
Neymar has been linked with potential moves to Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain, and Manchester United in this transfer window. However, his father has claimed that Neymar is set to see out his contract at the Catalan club, and will not join Real Madrid, in particular, under any circumstances.
He was quoted as saying: “The possibility of him ending up there (Real Madrid) is zero. Neymar’s owners are Barcelona. Any proposals, any notifications, or any formality that comes in respect to Neymar, without question passes through Barcelona and Barcelona alone. He’s still under contract with the club and they know everything that’s going on.
“There’s lots of speculation and it’s clear he’s become mixed up in all that. People know that there are various clubs interested in him for his football, but they don’t want to say that he’s talking to them or having any dealings. People have said 10,000 different things about my son. Neymar has a contract at Barcelona, and he has two years left. That’s the only certainty. He has to obey that contract, besides, he’s happy at the club. The speculation will go on like it has been for a while, but everyone’s used it by now.”
Manchester United Preparing A Mammoth Offer For Pogba
Manchester United are preparing a gigantic offer for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Paul Pogba left Manchester United in 2012 after falling out with Sir Alex Ferguson due to limited first team opportunities. The Frenchman moved to Juventus, where he has enjoyed enormous success, having won four league titles in all the four seasons he has spent in Turin. However, the 23-year-old now looks set to depart from Italy, and is being linked with potential moves to Barcelona, Real Madrid, and also with a return to his boyhood club Manchester United.
Juventus are believed to be ready to part ways with their star man, and sell the France international to the club that makes the highest bid. Amidst this speculation, the Red Devils are reportedly preparing a staggering offer worth £100 million for their former youth academy star, as per Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport. The sum will not only be enough to convince the reigning Italian champions to sell Pogba, but will also become the new world record transfer fee. United will also offer the midfielder a salary worth £192,000-a-week.
