Manchester United Set To Part Ways With Almost 8 Players

Following the imminent arrival of Paul Pogba, Manchester United are preparing to let go of almost eight of their current players, as the new United boss gets ready for the new season.

The Sun have reported that Jose Mourinho is looking to work with a 22-man squad.

Paul Pogba, who has been a long-term target for Manchester United, is going to be part of the 22 man squad that Mourinho is going to work with.

Jose Mourinho has already secured the services of Zlatan Ibrahimović, Eric Bailly, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. He is now looking to complete the £100 million transfer of Paul Pogba, so that he can begin the final preparations for the upcoming season.

The Sun have mentioned that a United source has revealed that Jose will be looking to send eight players packing.

“Jose has made it clear he wants to work with 22 key players – it means up to eight players heading out.”

Amongst the players believed to be facing the axe are Bastian Schweinsteiger, Marcos Rojo, and Morgan Schneiderlin.

Juan Mata is also a player who may be heading out the door. Mourinho initially sold the Spaniard back when he was in charge of Chelsea, because he believed Juan did not possess the defensive qualities that he was looking for in a midfielder.

Since Mata’s move to Manchester United, the Spaniard has become a fan favorite, and has been effective in front of goal.

Adnan Januzaj is another question mark, due to his less than impressive performances in the recent seasons, which saw him get loaned out to German side Borussia Dortmund. The youngster broke onto the scenes in 2014, when he was promoted during David Moyes’ reign at United.
